Terms and Privacy notice
Last changed 11 October 2026 (evening: bug report attachments are now removed 30 days after a report is closed; deleting a banned account cannot be cancelled). When these change, you are asked to agree again the next time you sign in with your password.
In short: Warpforge Revival is a free fan project run by volunteers. You need to be 16 or older. Be decent in chat and don't cheat. Cards you submit may be edited and put in the game. We keep only what the game and the site need, never sell it, and you can delete your account yourself at any time.
1. Who we are
Warpforge Revival is a non-commercial fan project that keeps the game Warhammer 40,000: Warpforge playable after its official servers closed. It is not made, endorsed or supported by Games Workshop, the game's original developers or its publisher. Warhammer 40,000 and everything related to it belong to their owners. Nothing here is sold and nothing costs money.
"We" means the people who run this server. "The service" means this website, the game server and the mod.
2. Who can use it
You must be 16 or older to make an account. If we learn an account belongs to someone younger, we delete it.
3. Your account
- Your account is for you. Keep your password to yourself; we never ask for it.
- Choose a name that is not offensive and does not pretend to be someone else.
- New accounts may need an admin's approval before they can be used.
- We can suspend or ban accounts that break these terms. A ban removes every role the account had.
4. Rules
- No harassment, hate, threats, sexual content or spam in chat, names, decks or cards.
- No cheating, exploiting bugs on purpose, or attacking or overloading the server. If you find a bug or a security problem, tell us on Discord.
- Don't share other people's personal information.
- Moderators can read chat, look at reports and remove anything that breaks these rules.
5. Cards you make
- Only submit text and artwork you made yourself or have permission to use.
- By submitting a card for review you let us show it, edit it for balance or fit, and put it in the game, for free and for as long as the project runs.
- Drafts and rejected cards stay yours: they are deleted with your account.
- Approved cards stay in the game after you delete your account, credited to "deleted account".
6. No guarantees
The service is run in spare time and comes as it is. It can be down, change, lose data or stop at any time, and we are not responsible for any loss that causes. We will try to give notice on Discord before anything big changes.
7. Privacy notice
What we keep
| What | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Account name and a scrambled copy (hash) of your password. The password itself is never stored. | Signing you in | Until you delete your account |
| Your roles, whether you agreed to these terms and when, and when the account was made or changed | Running the site | Until you delete your account |
| Your game player: in-game name, friend code, friends list, decks, collection, progress, match history and match recordings | Playing the game | Until you delete your account (recordings drop off as newer matches replace them) |
| Cards and artwork you make | The card creator | Drafts and rejected cards until you delete them or your account; approved cards as long as the project runs |
| Chat messages | So the chat has a history | Only the newest 500 messages on the whole server are kept |
| Chat reports (who reported whom, and the message) | Moderation | The newest 500 reports on the whole server |
| Connection logs: your IP address, time, and what was asked for. Device ids are stored only as a fingerprint. | Keeping the server working and safe | 14 days |
| Fingerprints of the addresses you signed in from (not the addresses themselves) | Stopping password guessing without locking you out | Your 10 most recent, until you delete your account |
| Bug reports you send as a tester: what you type, your device and game details, the game's recent log lines, and (if you leave them ticked) a screenshot and, after a crash, the game's crash dump | Finding and fixing bugs | The report as long as the project runs. The log, screenshot and crash dump are removed 30 days after the report is closed (verified fixed, can't reproduce, won't fix or duplicate); until then they are seen only by you and the admins (crash dumps only by admins) |
| Backups of the above | Recovering from mistakes or failures | The newest 10 nightly backups |
What we don't do
- No email address, real name, payment details or location is asked for.
- No adverts, no trackers, no analytics. The website stores nothing in your browser except what keeps you signed in.
- Nothing is sold or given to anyone else, unless the law requires it.
Our Discord server and GitHub are run by Discord and GitHub, under their own privacy policies.
Your choices
- See what we hold: your Profile page shows your account; the game shows your player. Ask on Discord for anything else.
- Correct it: change your name and password on the Profile page.
- Delete it: see below.
8. Deleting your account
On the website, open your Profile and choose Delete my account. You confirm with your password and your account name.
- Your account is signed out everywhere at once and is deleted after 7 days. Signing in again within those 7 days cancels the deletion.
- Exception for banned accounts: if an account is banned when it is set to be deleted, the deletion cannot be cancelled by signing in or resetting the password, even if the ban is lifted afterwards. Only an admin can stop it.
- Deleted: your account, your game player (with its decks, collection, progress, friends list and recordings), your drafts and rejected cards and their artwork.
- Changed, not deleted: your approved cards stay in the game credited to "deleted account"; your chat messages still kept are emptied and shown as from "deleted account"; bug reports you sent stay, without their log, screenshot and crash dump, as from "deleted account".
- Kept: matches you played against other people stay in their match history. Chat reports and bans stay as moderation records.
- Connection logs and backups that still contain your data are removed as they age out (14 days for logs, about 10 days for backups).
Admins can also delete an account, following the same steps (and the same exception for banned accounts).
9. Changes
When these terms change, the date at the top changes and you are asked to agree again the next time you sign in with your password. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
10. Contact
Questions, requests about your data, or problems: ask us on our Discord server.
